First of all, it’s important that you call for IT support as soon as you can. If you don’t already have an in-house IT team, then you might need to find a tech firm that outsources support and IT help. Most of them will offer over-the-phone help and, as long as they are local to you, will be able to send people out to you to take a closer look at the problem if necessary.
Follow Up With Client Calls
If you are waiting for your IT support to come out to your office, you don’t just have to sit do nothing in the meantime. Why not spend this time catching up with some client calls? After all, you don’t need to be online to use the phone! Even if you don’t have a pressing reason to give a client a call, I’m sure they will really appreciate your checking in on them to make sure all the work for them is going as planned.
Hold A Meeting
Downtime is also the perfect time to carry out a meeting with your staff. You won’t be distracted by things online, so you should find that not many people in the meeting are scrolling through their phone as you talk in the meeting. Everyone will be a lot more focused and will be more willing to take part in the discussion.
Sort Through Some Paperwork
You will also have a lot more time to deal with your paperwork during any unexpected downtime. When we are so busy with work, it can be all too easy to let documents and papers build up on our desks, and this will eventually lead to a very unorganized mess. Well, now you can’t work, you have the perfect opportunity to deal with all of these papers and ensure they are filed away wherever they need to go.
