When it comes to running an online business you really need to be organised and be able to focus on the things that are going to generate the most revenue and profit in your business.
Everything else may be important but they’re not money-making tasks that you need to be doing all the time, and this means that having systems in your business is important so that you can stay organised and focused on the things that are actually going to move your business forward.
So in this post we’re going to share with you some of the simple systems that you can have in your business that will help you run your business with more ease.
Operations system:
An operations system is basically at the foundation of your business and includes everything from your admin to your payment schedules, invoices and all of the things that are important in running your business, so having systems set up around these to make sure that you’re able to manage them properly and that even if they’re outsourced that the people who are responsible for these are getting all the information when they need it. Examples of admin work that may need to be done in your business, but that you don’t necessarily need to be done on your own could include things like file management for keeping everything organised, staying on track of leads, and making sure invoices are sent and paid. You can use things like Trello, Google Drive or even visit PaperSave to see how you can manage your documents more efficiently without feeling cluttered and overwhelmed.
Marketing system:
Marketing is a crucial aspect of our business and if you’re not able to market then you’re not going to have a business for very long.
However, sometimes people spend too much time on marketing and not enough time actually doing anything else, and if you’re only marketing and seeing very little results then something in your marketing has to change, and that’s why having a good marketing system in place is key. Being able to automate and schedule your marketing around the things that you’re offering and being very strategic with it is a very good system to have, so taking time to set this up will save you a lot of hassle in the long run.
Sales system:
If you’re not making money in your business then you have an expensive hobby, not a business, so having a good sales system in place is also a key thing to have in your business.
This could be something as simple as setting up a landing page where people come and book a call with you and then linking that to your booking scheduler so that they get automatically booked into your calendar at a time that gives your availability and that also suits them. You can use the time blocking method to set this up and then allow for certain times of the day or week where you only focus on these calls so that you’re generating sales without having to be constantly tied to your computer.
Onboarding system:
And onboarding system is key to having a good retention rate in your business since the sale doesn’t end when somebody pays you – it’s an ongoing relationship that has to be nurtured and in order to keep those customers coming back then you have to keep that experience a positive one for them, and this begins with your onboarding process. So this could be things like making sure that welcome packs go out, that contracts are sent out on time, and that customers have the information that they need in order to deliver on their side of the relationship.
